Hey everybody! Last night via email, LPI sent me information about my host family. I will be living with the family along with two other students. The mother of the household, born in 1953, is Lilliana Campos. She was a teacher but is now retired. The father is Abraham, born in 1948. He is an agricultural engineer and is not yet retired...
They have two children: one daughter and one son. The daughter is Adriana, and she is 29. She works in computer science and biotechnology. The son, also Abraham, is a 26-year-old nursing student. I don't know if it is Costa Rican custom to live with one's parents until that age, or if it is only acceptable to move out once married. The family has three dogs and a large house. It has six bedrooms, five bathrooms, living and dining rooms, kitchen, TV room and a patio.
The family sent the two other students and I a message saying that I will form a part of their family and that they hope I will feel that their home is my home. They say that Costa Rica is a beautiful country with extraordinary beaches and other places where I will have a great time.
So now I just have to wait for little less than a week until I'll be getting on the flight. Pura vida!
Won't it be fun to try their food too? I bet the mother will take good care of you boys. She must really enjoy it, to fill it up with three of you. We have lots to do to get ready when we get back to Virginia.
